The History ... Panerai is the most famous Italian watch company. But keep in mind, Panerai is now produced in Switzerland, not Italy. Originally founded in Florence in the 1860’s, this “watch workshop” was commissioned by the Italian Navy to produce a watch that could be easily read underwater. The early prototype was actually fitted with Rolex parts. Giovanni Panerai and his family had no idea, back in 1860, just how significant the Panerai watch company would become a century and a half later. Panerai started his business by producing measurement and precision systems for the Italian Navy, which gradually lead to an affinity for watchmaking and other precision instruments. The company continued to develop in parallel with the Italian Navy, and the commandos were equipped with wristwatches produced by Panerai. In 1930, Panerai watches were well known in the Italian military and the company had an exclusive contract with the Navy to produce their watches and aiming sites for various types of weaponry. The ruggedness and durability of the Panerai watches is still symbolic today, and the company only started producing wristwatches for the general public in 1993.

Fixed Brushed 18k Rose Gold bezel. Automatic COSC self-winding movement, power reserve up to ± 48 hours.. Displays a Black engraved square- grid dial with waffle pattern decoration and Ferrari Logo Prancing Horse with applied Gold Tone Stick markers, Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals on the flange, 60-minute scale. Gold Tone skeleton hands. Date display at 6 with applied cone-section rings in Gold, month and 4 year/ leap year display at 3 , small seconds at 9, seconds hand and part of the seconds scale in Gold. "The collaboration between these top two brands results in a product with phenomenal quality that is second to none. The interplay of brushed and high polish finishing on the case is amazing combine with one of the highest complicated movements ever in a Panerai watch. It is the most complicated movement with the Panera/ Ferrari collaboration. The concept of performance automobile is very subtly incorporated into the watch with the side profile looking like a race car, and the sub-dials resembling instrument panels..... Every feature is symmetrical in placement functional and is easy to read. Extremely rare and collectible – To the best of our knowledge, the FER0016 was one of the first Perpetual Calendar models made by Panerai, in this movement configuration. This is a must-have for hardcore Panerai aficionados"... In large part due to the 60 production. More over these two companies that are top's in their field, of World Wide Brands.
